1. Level, or suitably ramped, access
2. Doors suitably weighted to enable ease of opening
3. Minimum door opening: 800 mm
4. Level access throughout ground floor
5. Ground floor, adequately sized and unobstructed
6. Arrangements made to enable easy access to payment facilities

To qualify for SILVER AWARD

7. Wheelchair accessible toilets (where customer toilets are provided)
8. Disabled persons car parking facilities (where car parking is provided)
9. Lift access to upper floors
10. Assistance with packing shopping
11. Restaurants should provide non-fixed seating
12. Staff to have undergone basic training in providing assistance to people with physical and visual impairment

To qualify for GOLD AWARD

13. Low level payments counters with one facility fitted with an induction loop system
14. Automatic doors on most entrances
15. Low level lift buttons
16. Lift buttons to have a yellow parameter strip and voice announcement with lift
17. Customer information signs to have large clear print in contrasting colours to the background
18. One to one assistance throughout shopping in the store
19. Disability awareness training policy for staff
